CTRO (Circular Tube Reverse Osmosis) Membrane System

The CTRO (Circular Tube Reverse Osmosis) S.A.F.E Disc technology is a PATENTED design. It is very economic and efficient technology for the treatment of effluent & waste water. The CTRO technology is a patented & proven membrane technology with plate and frame design suitable for overcoming the problems faced in spiral wound reverse osmosis process. CTRO system were developed to remove dissolved solids (TDS) , COD, BOD and many other impurities and are most often associated with RO system. CTRO (S.A.F.E) is PATENTED design, Uses Symmetrical Angular (S.A.F.E) feed flow path and high packing densities to minimize concentration polarization & physical flow impediments. Which helps to redirect the flow at 90’, Which doesn’t required sharp turn ( 180’) to pass the fluid to other level (Unlike others design ) ,which minimize the pressure drop required for Redirection. The suspended solids and organic load carried in the feed water cannot be trapped or easily settle out inside the membrane module and hence minimizing the costly pretreatment such as chemical precipitation, biological process, stage wise filtration & ultra-filtration which is commonly used in the spiral wound membrane system. The CTRO system minimize the scaling & fouling of membranes due to its short feed flow and high packing density which will increase the life of the membranes and replacement cost. CTRO System is able to cope up with a higher SDI (Silt Density Index) and high COD, BOD content and is therefore best equipped for waste water and effluent treatment applications. The CTRO Modules are compact in size, flexible in operation and provided with easy access to all membranes for inspection, replacement and other activities.

CTRO ADVANTAGES

CTRO MODULE

The CTRO module consists of a pressure tube, membrane cushions and hydraulic discs which are held by a center Tension rod. The basic unit is a sandwich of flat membrane sheets called Membrane cushions with octagonal construction and hydraulic disc. The Octagonal membrane cushions are placed between hydraulic discs. This Membrane cushions & hydraulic disc was inserted into a tie rod and covered by a pressure tube. Both end of the tie rod is fixed with end flanges with lip seals for completing the operational requirement

Owing to this special construction of hydraulic disc and membranes cushions, Angular flow formed between the hydraulic discs and the membrane cushions where the raw solution concentrates. Individual channels are joined together by openings in discs, which are arranged in Angular pattern, so that the feed water flow redirects in 90’ across the membrane cushions, alternately from the inside towards the outside and reversibly. A portion of water permeates through either of the two surrounding membrane layers and into the permeate slot, leaving behind any dissolved and particulate contaminates that are rejected by the membrane. Filtered water in the permeate slots travels toward the central collector tube, while water in the feed that does not permeate through the membrane cushions continues to flow across the membrane surface, becoming increasingly concentrated with rejected contaminates. This concentrate stream exits the module parallel to the concentrate tube where it finally collected and ready for dispose.

CTRO MEMBRANE

The membrane cushions are made of two single membrane with an inter-mediate fleece sheet (spacer) with octagonal construction. The outer edges of the membrane cushion are sealed by ultrasonic welding

Hudraulic Disc -S.A.F.E (Symmetrical Angular Flow Easyfix ) CTRO (S.A.F.E) is PATENTED design, Uses Symmetrical Angular (S.A.F.E) feed flow path and high packing densities to minimize concentration polarization & physical flow impediments. Which helps to redirect the flow at 90’, Which doesn’t required sharp turn ( 180’) to pass the fluid to other level (Unlike others design ) ,which minimize the pressure drop required for Redirection. Concentric pin alignment design saves lot of time for the installation, it poses such design that any dot on outer edge can match with any dot of adjacent disc. That is why it termed at Easy fix ( * E ) – S.A.F.E *

RETROFITTING / CAPACITY ENHANCEMENT / MEMBRANE CUSHION REPLACEMENT

S.A.F.E ( CTRO ) system are an easy option for treatment/ capacity enhancement/replacement of existing disc module system without much modification/ destruction in the existing system. Due to the capability of operating in high pressure and superior performance, the operational up gradation and quality improvement can be done with replacement of membrane module and/ or with additional modules in existing system. Many cases, the reject from the existing plant can be fed into our high-pressure system for improving the recovery wherein the final reject disposal will be minimized. Quality improvement of existing disc membrane system supplied by others can be done with replacement of membrane cushion alone or with or without disc. CTRO membrane cushions and disc are suitable for replacing other similar system without any modification. All replacement shall be backed with necessary process warrantee on case- to-case basis with operation and maintenance assistances from us. We can even operate the system on long term basis if required. The membrane cushion and other spares are available within a short duration in most cases.
